Join the St Swithun’s Choir for a free musical Celebration of the Psalms —4pm, Saturday 30 May, at St John the Baptist Anglican Church, Mudgee.
We believe all Christians should try to join a Bible Study group. A greater understanding of the Bible can have many personal benefits. To highlight a few; having previously misunderstood passages explained can develop a greater understanding of God’s grace and love, and how He wants us to live our lives. It allows you to explore and understand your own faith in a way that provides spiritual resilience when your faith is challenged. This increased understanding and deeper faith can be beneficial when discussing or defending your religious beliefs with other people. The benefits of fellowship in small groups should not be overlooked either.
We are eager to expand the number of people in our parish studying the Bible. There are a number of ways to do this. Some may prefer to study individually, and we can provide resources to assist. The Mudgee Christian Bookshop has material that can help also. While each of us should be studying the Bible individually on a regular basis, by far the most beneficial means of studying the Bible is in a group where led discussion allows time to answer some of the ‘difficult questions’ while building relationships with other Christians.
Our parish offers a range of times and venues that are open to all. Joining a group does not have any prerequisites. People in our parish from all backgrounds and biblical understanding regularly gather to learn together. While participants are encouraged to share their thoughts, we allow for different ‘comfort levels’ so nobody is forced to speak. If you are interested in participating or have a question related to studying the Bible, please let one of the leaders know or pass your name, along with a contact number and email address if you are new to these study groups, to the Parish Office ( Ph: 02 6372 1126 Office hours: Tuesday – Friday 10am – 1pm or office@cvanglican.org.au). New participants are always welcome so please pass this message to your acquaintances – they do not need to be Anglican or regular church attenders.
